The Full Picture

Berseem is not usually a terrace plant unless you keep rabbits, guinea pigs, or chickens. It is the premier green fodder of North India. It fixes massive amounts of nitrogen into the soil. Some urban gardeners grow it as a 'Green Manure' cover crop in winter—growing it, then chopping it and burying it to enrich the soil for summer vegetables.
