Red Salvia Mastery

Salvia adds crucial vertical architecture to a potted garden. While Petunias and Pansies stay low to the ground, Salvia shoots up bright red spikes. They are heavy drinkers compared to other winter flowers, so don't let their pots dry out. Always water them at the base of the plant—wetting the fuzzy leaves in the cool winter evenings will quickly lead to powdery mildew.
