The Full Picture

String of Pearls is one of the most frequently killed houseplants because people treat it like a trailing Pothos. It is a desert succulent with an extremely shallow, delicate root system. If you water the top of the soil before it is completely bone dry, the stems will rot at the crown and the entire vine will fall off. Wait until the pearls begin to look slightly wrinkled or deflated before you water them.
