Sweet Alyssum Mastery

Sweet Alyssum is the ultimate 'filler and spiller' for winter pot arrangements. It has very shallow, fine roots, which means it dries out quickly if placed in a tiny hanging basket. To keep the plant blooming thickly from November all the way to March, give it a 'haircut'. When the flowers start to look stringy or tired, take scissors and cut the whole plant back by half. It will regrow a dense, blooming carpet in two weeks.
