The team

Built from Lucknow

TerraceFarming · Uttar Pradesh, India

TerraceFarming is built from Lucknow by a small team. We run product, growth, and operations end to end, and outsource specialist legal and accounting work. Day to day this means writing the product, talking to early users, working with agronomists on the consultation script, and shipping changes to the site and app.

The choice to build a consumer-priced agri service in Hindi and English — rather than another English-only B2B tool for large estates — came from spending time with smallholder farmers and urban terrace gardeners and watching the same pattern repeat: a sick plant, no quick way to find out what is wrong, and a guess that costs the season. TerraceFarming is the answer we’re building to that gap.

Based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Open to phone, WhatsApp, and video interviews; in-person in Lucknow with notice.

What we’re happy to go on record about

Pick the angle that fits your beat. We’ll bring numbers, examples, and visuals to the call.

  • 1Why consumer-priced agritech subscription works in India after BharatAgri's Nov 2025 shutdown — and why earlier B2B advisory models did not.
  • 2What thousands of plant-photo first reads have taught us about smallholder pest pressure in UP — seasonal patterns, Hindi vs English query ratios, tier-2/3 vs metro user behaviour. Verifiable numbers available on request.
  • 3Why "first read" framing — instead of "diagnosis" — matters for trust, accuracy, and YMYL safety in agricultural AI.
  • 4Building a closed-loop vendor wallet that nets commissions on-platform, keeping the service outside RBI PPI licensing scope.
  • 5Solo operator economics — running an India-focused agritech end to end from Lucknow in 2026.

How to cite us

First reference: “TerraceFarming (one word, capital T and F), an Indian agritech app based in Lucknow”.

The product: the AI Plant Doctor is a first read, not a diagnosis. The disclaimer is visible on every result and we’d ask that coverage reflect it — especially for high-value plantings, users are encouraged to confirm with a human agronomist.

Pricing: always use the ₹ symbol with no space (₹999/year), never “Rs”. Tiers are Sprout (free), Bloom Pro (₹99/month or ₹999/year), Pro Plus AI (₹199/month or ₹1,999/year).

Avoid: “India’s #1”, “fastest-growing”, “10k+ growers” or any unverifiable superlative — these were removed from our public site and we don’t use them in copy. Numbers we can back are available on request.
