How to use cow dung in a terrace garden?

Never use fresh cow dung in pots — it burns roots and smells intensely in urban settings. Use only well-composted dry cow dung mixed at 30% into potting mix. Alternatively make jeevamrit (fermented cow dung liquid) and apply diluted 1:10 fortnightly. Composted cow dung is widely available in Indian nurseries for ₹20–40 per kg.
