How to treat stem rot in tomatoes?

Remove soil from the stem base to improve aeration. Drench with copper hydroxide (1 g/litre) or Trichoderma viride solution. Avoid wetting stems when watering. Stem rot is caused by Sclerotinia or Pythium in waterlogged soil — well-draining potting mix prevents recurrence.
