How to deal with fruit fly damage?
Use methyl eugenol or cue-lure traps to catch male fruit flies. Bag developing fruits (cucurbits, tomatoes) with paper bags or nets. Remove and destroy fallen infected fruit immediately. Spray spinosad (0.5 ml/litre) during fruit set. Sanitation is the most effective control in India.
