How often should I water tomato plants?

Water frequency depends on season and container size. Summer (April–June): water once or twice daily. Winter (November–February): every 2 days. Monsoon: reduce as ambient moisture rises. Check soil by inserting a finger 2 inches deep — water when dry at that depth. Inconsistent watering is the top cause of blossom end rot and fruit cracking. Mulching the pot surface reduces moisture loss by around 40%.
