How to grow banana on a terrace?
Dwarf Cavendish is the ideal terrace banana — stays under 1.5 m. Use a 25–30-litre container. Water heavily in summer, reducing in winter. Feed with potassium-rich fertiliser (0:0:50) monthly once flowering begins. Bananas need full sun and wind protection. The mother plant fruits once, then suckers take over. In India, expect a bunch in 9–12 months from planting. Remove all but one sucker to concentrate energy.
