How to grow cumin (jeera) in a pot?
Cumin is a cool-season spice crop. Sow seeds October–December in a shallow container (6 inches deep) with sandy, well-draining soil. Broadcast seeds and thin to 2 inches apart. Water lightly every 2 days — cumin dislikes waterlogging. The slender plants grow 20–30 cm tall. Seeds are ready when the plant turns brown and seed heads dry out, usually in 90–110 days. Harvest in the morning to prevent seed scatter.
