How to grow garlic in pots at home?

Garlic grows well in 8–10-inch pots. Plant individual cloves (flat end down) October–November in North India. Space 3–4 inches apart. Use well-draining compost-rich soil. Water moderately; excess moisture causes bulb rot. Harvest when lower leaves yellow and turn brown, usually May–June. Yamuna Safed 3 and Agrifound White are popular Indian varieties. Cure harvested bulbs in shade for 2–3 weeks before storing.
