How to grow Italian basil at home?
Italian basil prefers warm weather and does well in Indian summers (March–August). Sow seeds in a 6-inch pot with well-draining compost-rich soil. Full sun. Water when top inch dries. Pinch flower buds as soon as they appear to keep leaves sweet and prevent bolting. Harvest stems from the top regularly to encourage bushy growth. In winter, basil struggles below 15°C — keep indoors or grow under a grow light.
