How to grow lettuce on a terrace?
Lettuce is a fast-growing winter crop — harvest in 30–45 days. Use a shallow container (6 inches deep) with moisture-retaining soil. Sow seeds October–February. Best Indian varieties: Great Lakes, Iceberg, Lollo Rossa. Lettuce tolerates partial shade — ideal for north-facing balconies. Use the cut-and-come-again method: harvest outer leaves and the plant keeps producing. Mulch to retain soil moisture.
