How to grow roses on a terrace?
Roses thrive on sunny Indian terraces. Use a 12–15-litre container with well-draining loamy soil enriched with compost. Best container varieties: miniature roses, floribundas. Plant October–November. Prune in mid-October before the second bloom flush. Feed with NPK and rose-specific fertiliser fortnightly during growing season. Water at base to prevent fungal diseases. Black spot and aphids are the main problems — treat with neem oil spray.
