How to grow thyme on a terrace?
Thyme is a challenging herb in India but manageable. Use a small terracotta pot with extremely well-draining soil — equal parts cocopeat, sand, and perlite. Full sun. Water sparingly, only when soil is fully dry. The biggest risk is root rot during monsoon — elevate the pot and shelter from heavy rain. Trim after flowering to keep the plant compact. Propagate by layering or cuttings. Best grown October–April in North India.
