How to grow turmeric in a pot?

Turmeric needs a deep container (12+ inches) as rhizomes spread horizontally. Plant finger rhizomes February–May. Partial shade is ideal — harsh afternoon sun scorches leaves. Water every 2–3 days; turmeric loves moisture but hates waterlogging. Mulch thickly. Harvest 8–10 months after planting when leaves turn yellow. Fresh turmeric is milder and juicier than dried. Dry excess rhizomes in sun for 2 weeks, then grind to powder.
