How to improve drainage in plant pots?

Ensure pots have multiple drainage holes — drill extra if needed. Add a 2 cm gravel layer at the base. Mix perlite or coarse river sand (20–30%) into soil. Elevate pots on stands to allow free drainage. Especially critical during Indian monsoon season.
