How to treat sooty mould on plants?

Sooty mould grows on honeydew left by aphids, mealybugs, or scale insects. Control the underlying pest first with neem oil spray. Wipe black coating from leaves with a wet cloth. Improve air circulation. Once pests are eliminated, new leaves grow mould-free.
