How to grow marigolds in pots?
Marigolds are easy terrace flowers that also repel pests. Sow seeds February–March or July–August in 6–8-inch pots. Cover lightly with soil. Germination in 5–7 days. Water every day. Deadhead spent blooms regularly for continuous flowering. African marigold (tall, large blooms) and French marigold (compact, bushier) are both excellent. Use as companion plants near tomatoes and brinjal to deter whiteflies and aphids naturally.
