How to grow tomatoes without soil?
Soil-free tomato growing is practical in India using two methods. Cocopeat-based: fill grow bags with cocopeat + perlite (70:30) and feed with liquid hydroponic nutrients fortnightly — simpler and lower cost (grow bag kit from ₹200–400). True hydroponics: nutrient film technique (NFT) or deep water culture — higher yield, faster growth, but requires setup investment (₹3,000–8,000 for a basic terrace system). Both methods outperform soil in container yields.
