How to identify viral disease in plants?

Viral disease shows as mosaic yellowing (irregular patches of light and dark green), leaf distortion or crumpling, abnormal colour streaking on stems or fruit, and severe stunting. Unlike fungal disease it does not show powdery or water-soaked patches. No spray cures viruses — remove plants and control insect vectors like whiteflies and aphids.
