What beneficial insects help control pests?

Ladybirds eat aphids and scale. Lacewing larvae consume mites, aphids, and thrips. Hoverfly larvae eat aphids; adults pollinate flowers. Parasitic wasps (Trichogramma) attack caterpillar eggs — sold by Indian biocontrol suppliers. Avoid broad-spectrum pesticides which eliminate these allies. Planting dill, fennel, and marigold attracts all four groups to terrace gardens.
