What is Panama disease in banana?

Panama disease (Fusarium wilt) is caused by Fusarium oxysporum cubense — a soil fungus that blocks water uptake. Leaves yellow from the outside inward, then the plant collapses. It has no cure. Remove and destroy affected plants. Use disease-resistant varieties like Nendran or tissue-culture plants from certified Indian nurseries.
