When to plant garlic in India?

Plant garlic cloves in October–November across North and Central India. Garlic needs cool nights (below 18°C) for bulb development. Plant individual cloves 2–3 cm deep, pointed end up, in well-drained, organically rich containers. In South India (hilly areas like Nilgiris, Ooty), plant October–December for spring harvest.
