When to sow mustard (sarson) in North India?

Sow sarson seeds in October–mid November in North India. Seeds germinate within 5–7 days in cool, moist soil. Harvest tender greens for saag in 30–35 days, or let plants mature for mustard seeds in 90–100 days. Grows well in wide shallow containers. Popular winter staple in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
