Can baking soda treat plant fungus?

Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) at 1 tsp per litre with a few drops of liquid soap creates an alkaline surface that inhibits fungal spore germination. It works well as a preventive or early treatment for powdery mildew. However, excessive use can scorch leaves and disrupt soil pH — use sparingly and alternate with neem oil.
