Why are my peas not producing pods?

Peas flower but fail to set pods mainly because of heat — if daytime temperatures exceed 28°C, flowers abort. In North India, peas sown after January face heat stress by March. Sow October–November for best pod set. Excess nitrogen also prevents podding. Lack of bee visits is rarely the issue as peas self-pollinate. If plants are leggy with few flowers, they were sown too late. Try again next October with early-maturing Arkel variety.
